Las Vegas Strip Update: NoMad Hotel Set to Depart

Game On

Exciting changes are in store for the Las Vegas Strip as NoMad Hotel prepares to exit its current home. This boutique luxury hotel, offering a blend of sophistication and comfort, currently occupies the top four floors of the Park MGM with 293 rooms.

What’s the Buzz?

Hilton has recently acquired a majority stake in NoMad’s operator, the Sydell Group. With plans to grow the NoMad brand globally, Hilton has set its sights on expanding to new luxury markets. However, the Las Vegas location won’t be part of this journey. Hilton mentioned in a brief statement that NoMad Las Vegas will transition to a new brand in the near future.

Why the Shift?

The reasons behind this decision are still shrouded in mystery. Hilton has been tight-lipped about the specifics, and MGM Resorts, the owner of Park MGM, is keeping the identity of the next tenant a secret for now.

A Quick Look Back at NoMad

NoMad started its journey as Hotel 32 in 2009 at the Monte Carlo, the predecessor to Park MGM. After a fire in 2008, MGM Resorts chose to elevate the top floors with an upgrade rather than a simple restoration. This decision led to the creation of NoMad inside Park MGM following a massive $650 million renovation in 2018.

What Lies Ahead for NoMad?

While the future of NoMad Las Vegas remains uncertain, other hotels-within-hotels on the Strip continue to flourish. Notable examples include the Four Seasons at Mandalay Bay, Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace, and Hilton’s Crockfords Las Vegas at Resorts World.

NoMad’s Journey So Far

The original NoMad opened in 2012 in Manhattan’s historic district, North of Madison Square Park. Unfortunately, the New York location closed its doors due to the pandemic in March 2021 and has since been rebranded under the London-based membership hotel group, Ned. NoMad Los Angeles, which debuted around the same time as its Las Vegas counterpart, also closed in March 2021 and made way for Hotel Per La.
